Any provider – physician, nurse practitioner, aesthetic medicine professional, or any other extender – who administers injections must have a superior knowledge of anatomy. Outcomes analyses from pre- and post-course assessments show that “cadaver anatomy training improved applied facial anatomy knowledge for most of the aesthetic practitioners, which may enhance their confidence in performing nonsurgical facial aesthetic procedures.”

Attendees will be eligible for CME credits in addition to credits earned at the South Beach Symposium: West Coast Derm conference.

What to Expect

“It’s a very comprehensive way of learning about the anatomy and really the functional anatomy… I think it’s critical that everybody’s knowledge of anatomy is at the same level… it’s an important aspect of keeping patients safe.”

The day will begin with an overview of aesthetic anatomy from Z. Paul Lorenc, MD, followed by a discussion of hand and face anatomy for aesthetic procedures. The live cadaver prosection will then begin, with faculty-guided injection and dermal filler instruction, as well as training in absorbable suture suspension procedure. The late morning instruction will focus on potential complications with injectable agents and thread lifts, and how to manage unexpected results. Finally, all faculty will answer questions from the audience in the lively Ask Us Anything session to close out the day.

Hands-on training from expert faculty

What Students Are Says...

"I was surprised, under eye injections; cheek injections;  intraorbital injections..things are not where we expected it to be when looking at the layers of the cadaver.""
"I felt more confident with my patient's procedures. I learned some safety tips especially when it came to injecting.  It was "beyond belief" and well worth the price. "
"The thing i took home with me the most that keeps pounding in my mind is 'believing in anatomy'. If you believe in anatomy you can be a successful injector and very confident at what you are doing; you always have that fear of vascular occlusion; but if you really know your anatomy, keeping up to date - that's going to lead to your success."
"I really enjoyed it. It was so exciting. The only thing that I didn't like was that it was not longer. The time goes by so fast, you can't get enough! The faculty were so interesting and knowledgeable; the doctors were very helpful came to the tables and helped us dissect; they provided a lot of feedback on how and where and why."
