Dr. Alexis is vice chair of Diversity and Inclusion and practicing dermatologist at the Center for Diverse Skin Complexions at Weill Cornell Medicine’s Department of Dermatology. He is former chair of the Department of Dermatology at Mount Sinai Morningside and Mount Sinai West. Having served as director of the first-of-its-kind Skin of Color Center, his work has helped to advance patient care, research, and education pertaining to dermatologic disorders that are prevalent in populations with skin of color. Dr. Alexis is sought after for appearances in both media outlets and at medical conferences, has published more than 90 peer-reviewed journal articles, and has either co-authored or co-edited more than 10 book chapters informed by his clinical and research experience.
